Premier CPAP CLE Event

The HarrisMartin’s Philips CPAP, BiPAP & Ventilator MDL Conference will be held at The Omni William Penn Hotel from 11:30 am – 5:00 pm, offering attendees up to 3 hours of CLE credits. Individuals and firms interested in attending can still register for this important event.

The event will be held LIVE one day before the initial status conference on claims related to the recall of the Philips CPAP, BiLevel PAP, and mechanical ventilator products. The first status hearing on the MDL is scheduled for December 15, 2021, in Pittsburgh.

Philips CPAP Recall

In June 2021, CPAP manufacturer Royal Philips announced a massive recall of their medical devices. The recall was issued in response to a possible link between the devices and an increased risk of injury.

According to multiple reports, the foam within these devices breaks down over time, releasing harmful chemicals and particles into the machine. Inhalation of these toxic substances has been linked to severe respiratory illnesses and the development of other severe injuries.

Philips CPAP, BiPAP, and Ventilator Litigation

Millions of devices are subject to this Class I recall, the most serious type of recall issued by the FDA, due to their potential health risks. Numerous lawsuits have been filed against the CPAP manufacturer, which were recently consolidated into a multidistrict litigation out of the Western District of Pennsylvania.

Individuals who suffered harm as a result of using a now recalled Philips CPAP, BiPAP, or mechanical ventilator are strongly encouraged to obtain legal representation. Our CPAP lawsuit attorneys can help determine if you are eligible for a lawsuit based on your usage and injuries.

Fierce Advocacy for Injured Parties

Attorney Erin K. Copeland has dedicated herself to advocating on behalf of those injured by negligent medical product manufacturers. She is a recognized leader in the field, having been appointed to leadership positions in numerous multidistrict litigation leadership committees across the country.

Mrs. Copeland has been serving on the Executive Committee for the Essure consolidated litigation in California where she helped to negotiate a $1.6 billion settlement with Bayer on behalf of those injured. Recently, she was appointed co-lead counsel in the Paragard IUD MDL currently pending out of Georgia.
