- November 27, 2019. According to NPR, an explosion at the TPC Group Petrochemical Plant injured three people and damaged several nearby homes. The blast sent “a huge ball of fire” into the air and resulted in mandatory evacuations near the plant.
- July 31, 2019. A fire and explosion at the Exxon Mobil refinery injures 37 people. The Baytown petrochemical plant had another fire at one of their refineries in the same complex only months earlier, as reported by USA Today.
- April 2, 2019. The leak of isobutylene causes an explosion at the KMCO chemical plant, according to ABC 13 Eyewitness News. The fire lasted for more than five hours, killing one person and injuring two others.
